LAST EDIT TIPS- Before you begin:
The 1st 3 minutes of the actual interview are critical.
We call it the 3 minute rule.
It sets the tone of the entire TV feature.
If it does not look; TOP QUALITY & professionally engaging
with the BEST RELEVANT imagery;
CNTV will reject it.
or
The guest may reject it.
if we have guest provided images we included in the folder; use those. Less STOCK the better in 3 min.
It is like a good movie; If it grabs your attention immediately; You will probably
have positive thoughts about it throughout.
IF ANYTHING is questionable in the 1st 3 minutes.. then the viewer subconsciously
begins looking for negatives throughout.
And usually finds more.
1st impressions are everything!
When in doubt about B roll fitting properly; leave it out.
or find something that will not make the viewer ask: "What is this"? why was this image even used?
When the guest answers the FIRST QUESTON; Leave them on the screen! no b roll.. for a bit.
Let them enjoy seeing themselves.. with no distraction.
